To connect users with local helpers and facilitate secure task completion, we collect the following types of information:

• Personal Information: When you register for an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and physical address. We also assign you a unique User ID.
• Location Data: We collect both approximate and precise physical location data from your device's GPS to connect you with nearby helpers and tasks. You can manage these permissions in your device settings.
• Financial Information: We collect and store your purchase and transaction history to manage escrow payments and payouts. (Note: We use secure third-party payment processors; we do not directly store your credit card numbers).
• User-Generated Content: We collect data you provide directly within the app, including profile photos, images of tasks, in-app chat messages between users and helpers, and in-app search history.

The data we collect is not sold to data brokers. It is used exclusively for the following purposes:

• App Functionality: To create and manage your account, process escrow payments, and allow users and helpers to communicate directly regarding tasks.
• Account Management: To verify your identity, provide customer support, and send administrative information (such as password resets or receipt emails).
• Safety and Security: To resolve disputes, prevent fraudulent transactions, and monitor against malicious activity.

We only share information in the following limited circumstances:

• Between Users: When a task is booked, necessary details (such as your name, task location, and in-app messages) are shared between the user requesting the task and the helper fulfilling it.
• Third-Party Service Providers: We may share data with secure third-party vendors that perform services for us, such as payment processing (e.g., Paystack/Flutterwave) and hosting services.
• Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information where legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable local laws, governmental requests, or judicial proceedings.

We use standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures—including HTTPS encryption for data in transit—to help protect your personal information. However, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services.

Deleting Your Data: You have the right to request the deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. You can do this by:

• Navigating to Profile > Delete Account directly within the Shift9ja app.
• Emailing our support team at shift9ja@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" from the email address associated with your account.

Please note that we may be required to retain certain financial transaction records for a longer period to comply with local tax and accounting laws.

Shift9ja is not intended for use by children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document. You are encouraged to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed of updates.
